Golden Hawk Awards

Every year my kids have the opportunity to earn a "Golden Hawk Award". They do this by completing various tasks throughout the year like reading for so many minutes or memorizing poems. All three of my Hayden Peak kids were able to earn this. I was able to go to their awards ceremony and take pictures. As you can see they did much better at earning their award than I did at photographing it.

Father's Day

I am twice blessed in my life when it comes to fathers. First off my dad is pretty dang awesome. He is always calling to see how I am doing and is very willing to help me out with my kids whenever I need. He is kind and thoughtful and all I could ask for in a dad. Not only do I get to have an awesome father but the father of my kids isn't half bad either. He lets me boss him around and is always there when I need him. I think the kids think he is pretty great too. Here is some of the things they made him for Father's Day.

Translation:
To Dad

I love you very much and thank you for doing everything you did for me and I really wanted shrimp when we went to a store and you did not but I still love you and happy Father's Day - Spell Happy.

from Mariah

This is an award Hayley made for him. It really is true.

Jeannie & Me

When I was at my parents on Father's day one of my very best childhood friends dropped by to say "Hi". We just had to get a picture of our round bellies together. Actually I don't think she was too excited about it but she indulged me nonetheless. Here is me and Jeannie in all our pregnant glory. We are due about a month apart.

Park City Week

My parents have a time share in Park City which means that every year we journey up the mountain for some rest and relaxation. They have a great pool and even greater hot tubs. This is nice since it is usually a bit chilly when we are up there. This year was no exception. Despite the rain the kids spent every moment they could swimming. When they couldn't get an adult to brave the cold with them we hung out and played Guitar Hero on the Wii. I think that this year was perhaps our laziest trip yet. It was nice to have nothing to do. We did however work in a game of Bingo and some ukulele playing. I think that perhaps Gabe and his cousin Elizabeth had more fun than anyone. They also got into more trouble than we could have ever expected. It was like having twins. They were always together. Whether it was trying to flush towels down the toilet or getting into the Vicks they always had something to do. It was a nice getaway and something the kids love doing every year.
