My doctor headed out of town right after my delivery. This meant we missed the customary photo-op of doctor and baby. I took my camera to my postpartum appointment to shoot the pair together. Better late than never.
Welcome to a land of excitement, adventure, romance, and most importantly insanity. I hope you enjoy reading about our life as much as we enjoy living it.

on a witch hunt

My kids love to go see the witches at Gardner Village. Shalynn and her crew came along on our adventure. They had fun acting scared and eating pumpkin shaped cookies at the Village Bakery. It was a spooky fun time.

teach them early

Scott and I feel that our responsibility as parents is to teach our children to walk in the path of truth. That is one of the reasons we take our babies to the University of Utah football games at a very early age. My in-laws are great people. One of the reasons I happen to think this is because they supply us with season tickets every year. This allows us to more easily expose our young children to truth. Amelia was a hit at the game. I mean really, who doesn't love a baby dressed in Utah red?

amelia and jovianne
My friend Mindy and I like to be pregnant together. We like it so much that we have done it for the last three pregnancies. Usually she delivers before me. This time I got a jump on her. She was actually done having kids. But when I got pregnant she was so jealous she convinced Jason to have one more kid. This may not actually be what happened but I'm sure it's funnier than what really happened. We are hoping that Amelia and Jovianne are the best of friends just like her mom and me.

mom's big helpers

My baby likes to be held. Like a lot. a lot a lot. I have solved this with using my baby carrier whenever I can. This works great except for the fact that my baby is gaining weight like a champ. Baby's got back. Luckily for me I have some great help. Jaden has even taken to wearing my carrier for me. He can't do it for very long but it sure does help to have someone around to share the load.

six weeks old

I got sick of making my bed before I could take the baby's picture. We simplified and moved this weekly shoot to the couch. I actually forgot to take this picture when she was exactly 6 weeks old so technically she is six weeks and 2 days. She's growing like a weed, or as we like to say, like a Turner Baby.

at the park

With a six week old baby I don't get out much. It took a hair appointment to wrench me from the wicked hold my house has upon me. I have been seeing the same "hair lady" since forever, which means trekking to Bountiful for our cuts. My mother-in-law also lives in Bountiful. She seized upon the opportunity to see her grandkids and squeeze the new baby by buying lunch. I can always be bought with a free lunch. We met at a park and let the kids play. They loved the way the slide made their hair stand up on end. I got out of the house, didn't have to make lunch, the kids got to play, and we got our hair cut. Great day. Thanks Jude.

haylie and my mom got skills
My mom is a master seamstress. I mean look at this dress. It's amazing. It's even more amazing that she whipped up this little number in 3 days. She even made the shoes. No pattern. Just her rad bad skills. Haylie's talents aren't so bad either. She is definitely my favorite photographer. Don't you wish she was your friend too?
Thanks mom and Haylie, you rock.
Oh what do you think about my sweet baby making skills? Amelia, you're adorable.

Amelia and I taking a brief intermission during the shoot. Don't you love the hair?

Shanghai birthday delight
What better way to celebrate you're 3rd birthday then to eat dinner at the Shanghai Restaurant. I mean really, what 3 year old isn't crying out for vermicelli noodles all the time? Luckily for us, Gabe is one easy going 3 year old. We had already had a big family party the night before and found this a great opportunity to frequent one of my families favorite meeting places. Gabe loves trying to eat with chopsticks and even managed to get some food in his mouth. They let me bring our own cake and even provided a knife for us to cut it up, or should I say cleaver. Either way it was an great dinner with my family. Happy Birthday Gabe.

twofer
two·fer
n. Informal
An offer, a deal, or an arrangement in which a single expense yields a dual return
On this day our twofer was a blessing/birthday combo. When getting ready for either event requires cleaning all day, food prep, and getting all the family together, it's nice to only have to do it once. Gabe didn't seem to mind sharing his day with Amelia. We waited for the blessing crowd to die down and did the usual presents and cake bit. This year Gabe wanted a Tole cake from his new favorite show Ni Hao Kilan. Before we switched to birthday mode he was playing dress-up with his cousin Elizabeth. He could not be persuaded to change so spend the whole of his party dressed as a bunny. A whole mess of dinosaurs, a Tole doll, and a giant set of Mr. Potato Heads were some of the favorites. Happy "Birthday Blessing Celebration" day to all.
blessed
Amelia's blessing day was simply splendid. We had a grand showing of support. The house was filled with those that came to wish us well and fill their stomachs. I love having those that I love surround me. Scott did a great job blessing her. I am so grateful to be married to such a wonderful guy. I am also so happy to have a new baby. We really are blessed.
p.s. Didn't my mom do an amazing job on her dress? She really outdid her self this time.
